Fiber-optic FPV

In a fiber-optic FPV system the video and control link runs down a hair-thin glass fiber unspooled from the drone instead of over radio. There is nothing to jam and nothing to interfere with, the picture does not break up with distance or terrain, and the link itself gives off no radio signal.

You need three things: a spool of 250 µm fiber sized to your range, a TX/RX converter pair, one module on the drone and one on the ground, and the right connector type, FC or LC, to match your converters. Spool length is a trade-off, because more fiber means more weight and a bigger spool to carry.
